You will discover, through an Food and Wine pairing lunch, a masterly interpretation of a very powerful terroir, where the best of the 1000m2 kitchen garden of Château Bouscassé matches with local high-end products: cepes, Noir de Bigorre, sturgeon of the Adour, Chapon d’Astarac Bigorre, local breeds or forgotten vegetables … to awaken, every lunch, the senses of the guests.50€ par personne
The Châteaux Montus & Bouscassé spread across a dozen of geological soils, worthy of the greatest wine regions of the world. Pebble, red clay (like in Australia), black clay (lik at Petrus or Masseto Bolgheri), grey or white clay, gravels (Pauillac and Hermitage), … Located at 13 kilometers one from another, the Châteaux Montus & Bouscassé have an identity and signature quite different thanks to both of their terroirs.
We start at Château Montus, and after discovering the whole technical buildings for the vinification (vat room, barrel cellar …) wander the steep slopes of the plots (30%) with the big pebbles, including the grand plot of the appellation, “La Tyre”.
Ride through the crests road and the Madiran hill to discover the fine clay terroirs. While you will be approaching Château Bouscassé, the limestone and clay hills will be revealed being red, brown, … or even multicolored, with the grepps and the singularity of the Menhirs’ terroir, unique in Madiran !
After the ride, enjoy in the Château Bouscassé’s gardens a lunch « on the grass » with 3 wines from the estate pairing the food.
